Kathleen U. Poling
Ms. Poling, founding partner of Poling & Poling, has specialized in the representation of fiduciaries, both private professionals and family members, in conservatorships, trust and estate administration, and other areas of probate practice for more than 30 years.
Ms. Poling is a member of the California State Bar and the Contra Costa Bar Associations, where she served on the board of directors of the Probate Trust Section for many years. She has been a mediator for probate, trust and conservatorship cases, and was for many years active on the probate court’s rules committee, temporary judge panel and as court-appointed counsel for conservatees in disputed cases.
A graduate of West Virginia University, she obtained her law degree from John F. Kennedy School of Law in 1981. Before going into private practice, Ms. Poling served as in-house counsel for a group of small corporations.
Scott E. Poling
Mr. Poling is a 1996 graduate of King Hall, University of California, Davis. His practice focuses on conservatorship, trust and estate administration, and related disputes, representing individual and professional fiduciaries. He also handles contested conservatorship matters, often serving as court-appointed counsel for proposed conservatees. Mr. Poling serves on the Board of the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Contra Costa Bar Association, and regularly serves on the committees affecting local practice in the Probate Department of the Contra Costa Superior Court.
Mr. Poling is a frequent presenter at continuing education programs in the field of conservatorship, trust and probate estate administration, including the related subjects of incapacity, fiduciary liability and probate dispute resolution. In his spare time, Mr. Poling enjoys family travel, sporting events, and games of all sorts – especially chess.
